IN THIS LESSON You’ll start thinking about where you are at right now, today. What lights you up? What holds you back?

Start where you are.

  1. Complete the warm-up exercise by clicking the button above.

  2. Set up your workspace. On the blank page in front of you, divide your paper by drawing a horizontal line 3/4ths of the way down. In the middle of this section, draw a vertical line to create two boxes at the bottom of the page.

  3. In the larger/top section of your paper, sketch a simple picture of yourself.

  4. On an ordinary day, what gives you energy? Write those words around your self-portrait.

  5. On a challenging day, what keeps you going? Write those words around your self-portrait.

  6. Within and outside of work, think about a time when you could have gone farther, done more, taken a risk or tried again, but didn’t. What held you back? Write these words, too.

  7. Review what you have done so far. Look over your picture and the words you’ve written around it. These are all part of who you are today.
